From Dictionary of Mormon Biography
Commonly called the Anointed Quorum, this group was comprised of both men and women who had been initiated into temple ordinances by Joseph Smith, Jr. in Nauvoo, Illinois. It was also called The Quorum, Quorum of the Anointed, or the Holy Order.
